Proximi.io raises undisclosed amount in funding from Butterfly Ventures.

Proximi.io, a Järvenpää, Finland-based startup developer of a technology-agnostic proximity platform for location-aware mobile and web applications, has announced raising an undisclosed amount in investment funding.

The money comes from Butterfly Ventures, as a first investment from their latest fund, Butterfly Venture Fund III, set up together with Capital A Partners. The investment is syndicated with previous investors, a group of Finnish and Danish business angles.

Proximi.io, founded in 2014 and led by CEO and co-founder Annina Koskiola, developed a platform that provides access to an unified SDK and API to all mobile positioning technologies. The platform enables software developers to kick start their location-aware application projects and helps them to deliver context-aware content to their customers.

In 2015, Proximi.io raised €300k ($313k) in seed money.
