Quantum Optics Jena announced seed funding from ELAS Technologies, bm | t and Fraunhofer Technologie-Transfer Fonds

Quantum Optics Jena, a Jena, Germany-based startup woring on a quantum-based solutions for state-of-the-art communication systems, announced closing a seed deal for further funding the company's work.

The money was raised from local investors from Germany, including ELAS Technologies GmbH, Fraunhofer Technologie-Transfer Fonds GmbH and beteiligungsmangement Thüringen (bm|t).

Quantum Optics Jena, founded in 2020 as a spin-off at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision Engineering IOF by CEO Kevin Füchsel and Oliver de Vries, is working for launching a compact and high-performance entangled photon source for quantum key distribution or quantum optical experiments.
