RetinaRisk secured $500k from Iceland Venture Studio

RetinaRisk, a Reykjavik, Iceland-based company providing health services based on a diabetic retinopathy risk calculator, announced having raised $500k in capital investment.

The money was provided by existing investor Iceland Venture Studio. Iceland Venture Studio has recently announced that it has raised USD $2 million, in addition to its USD $1 million fund from 2019.

RetinaRisk, founded in 2009 by professors Einar Stefánsson and Arna Guðmundsdóttir, developed an unique, proprietary algorithm that can correctly identify those most at risk of retinopathy and allows physicians and patients alike to take preemptive steps to prevent vision loss through proper diabetic management.

The objective is to provide point of care risk assessment for eye care specialists and more effective communication with patients and other providers
