Root Global announced a €2.5 million pre-seed financing round led by Project A ventures, with participation from Nucleus and German angel investors.
Root Global, a Berlin, Germany-based software startup developing a carbon tracking platform for the food production value chain, announced completing a €2.5 million ($2.6M) pre-seed financing round.
The money was raised locally from from investors in Germany, led by Project A Ventures, and joined by Nucleus Capital and angel investors Andreas Berger (ex-managing director of Aldi), Markus Windisch (COO of HelloFresh), Mengting Gao (founder and CEO of Kitchen Stories), Julius Köhler (co-founder and MD of sennder), Mike Rötgers (co-founder and CTO of cargo.one) and Vassili Samolis (senior director of product in Doordash).
Root Global, founded in 2022 by CEO Eric Oancea and Maurice Hensl, developed a software tool vertically focused on the food industry helping customers identify, collect, and centralise activity data across their supply chains, in order to model emission scores of ingredients, products and entire companies.
