Scanmetals sold a third of the company to Kirk Kapital

Scanmetals, a Slagelse, Denmark-headquartered recycling company announced entering into an investment agreement to sell a third of its shares to the Danish private equity firm Kirk Kapital.

Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. In connection to the transaction Andreas Faerk, CIO at Kirk Kapital, will join the Board of Directors at Scanmetals. The transaction will provide Scanmetals with additional growth capital to continue expanding its operations in Denmark and abroad.

Scanmetals, founded in 2009 by CEO Ejvind Pedersen, is the global market leader within recycling of metallic waste from incineration ash. Scanmetals owns and operates a recycling plant in Slagelse, Denmark and opened a new one Birmingham, United Kingdom in 2016.

Scanmetals is currently expanding its facility in Denmark and the expansion is expected to be completed in Q3 2019. Following the expansion, the Scanmetals group will be able to recover more than 30,000 tonnes of metals yearly from incineration waste.
