Scanreach, a Bergen, Norway-based company working on an IOT technology used in the maritime industry, completed a NOK 40M ($4.6M) capital investent round.

The funding was backed by investors including Norwegian entrepreneur Sigurd Steen Aase.

Scanreach, founded in 2015 by CEO John Roger Nesje, has developed an IoT platform that transports data from sensors on board a vessel into the cloud. Since most ships are built in steel, small nodes are deployed in between which create a mesh network and penetrate the steel. Using this platform, the people aboard a vessel will be traceable with a wristband.

Prior to this round, Scanreach raised money from Aetos and Momentum.

Total investments received (USD): 4.58M
