Shares to raise $40 million Series A funding round led by Valar Ventures.

Shares, a Paris, France-based startup developing a social investment platform, announced raising series A in a deal closed at $40 million.

The money was raised from investors led by Valar Ventures, joined by Singular, Global Founders Capital and Red Sea Ventures.

Shares, founded in 2021 by CEO Benjamin Chemla and François Ruty, is working for the development of a social investment platform that gives everyone access to the stock market and improves the investment experience by letting users engage with an active community. The product was launched in conjuction with this investment deal, backed by 130 employees based in in London, Paris and Krakow.

Shares previously raised $10 million in the summer of 2021.
