Sidequest raises $3 million in a round led by PROFounders.
Sidequest, a Belfast, UK-based software company building a gaming platform that connects VR creators with users, announced closing a $3 million equity funding round.
The money was raised from investors led by PROFounders Capital, joined by Ada Ventures, Connect Ventures, Ascension and SCNE.
Sidequest, founded in 2019 by husband-and-wife, Shane and Orla Harris, developed a platform that connects VR content with users, free of cost. The platform has more than one million monthly active users and provides developers with a resource for uploading work in progress ahead of a public release. Players can access games that are not yet publicly available on the Oculus Store, while also providing developers with a means to validate their work and start building communities.
Sidequest previously raised $650k from investors including Oculus VR founder Palmer Lucky.
