Snapchat competitor Plotagon from Sweden raises SEK 8M
Plotagon is used for voice-controlled animations that can be posted on Youtube or replace sms.
The number of downloads is rapidly increasing and a total of 800,000 users downloaded Plotagon. The app is mainly used by teenagers to easily and quickly make animations that are posted online or sent to friends.
"The vision of Plotagon is to create a new system of communication which can better express feelings and tell stories. We want to be on Youtube, but also hope to replace SMS and might complement (Facebook, ed's note.) Messenger, "said Philip Edner, CEO and co-owner of Plotagon.
Plotagon was founded in 2012 as a tool for filmmakers. But the product was difficult to sell, and in 2013 bought Philip Edner and a number of other angel investors into the company and began to change the concept.
At the end of 2014 was Plotagon a regular mobile tools. And at the end of 2015 it was possible to describe the service as a promising app, which over time could be seen as a contender for Snapchat, Wechat and Messenger.
On YouTube, the service is already a phenomenon when Plotagon used to create 1.7 million films in total have received 4.3 million views, according to Philip Edner.
