Speechly secured $2.23M in a funding round led by Cherry Ventures.

Speechly, a Helsinki, Finland-based developer of voice-enabled software solutions, announced securing €2 million ($2.2M) in seed funding.

The funding round was led by the venture company from Germany Cherry Ventures and included other investors from Europe such as Seedcamp, Quantum Angels, Joyance Partners, Social Starts, Tiny.vc and angels Juha Paananen and Nicolas Dessaigne.

Speechly will use the money to further develop and open up its API to enable non-experts to create voice-enabled applications.

Speechly, founded in 2016 as Speechgrinder and led by CEO Otto Söderlund, develops voice interfaces for professional tools and services using deep learning and natural language processing technologies. The company's tools and APIs help developers to build voice-enabled user interfaces to their apps and services on any platform in verticals such as ecommerce, gaming, digital health or point-of-sale terminals.
