Sweden has a new VC fund to invest early stage money in Nordic startups: Alpha Nordic Capital
Alpha Nordic Capital is a new fund in Stockholm, created by people such as Tommy Nilsson (formerly with Industrifonden), Arne Nabseth (previously at the venture capital company Ledstiernan) or Patrick Sandahl (VC for Telenor).
The investment company is still in the funding pitches with the LPs, aiming for a total of $170M to be invested in early stage and growth phases in companies from Scandinavia.
The timing is good, as in 2015-2016 the Nordic region saw more than 500 pre-seed and seed investments in startups and business ideas which, presumably, will be looking for fresh investments in order to grow.
The data is taken from the Nordic 9's database, accessible here.
