Sweden's Uber manager steps down, claims the company cannot innovate now that Uber Pop was declared illegal.

Uber Pop from Sweden was closed in May 2016.

Afterwards, more than 50 drivers had to face legal consequences due to the fact that the service was considered to be illegal by the Swedish government.

At the beginning of the fall of 2016, it was reported that Uber was interested in recruiting staff for launching Uber Eats in Stockholm.

Marcus Bäcklund has been Sweden's Uber manager since November 2015.
