TerminusDB announced a €3.6 million in a seed round led by Volta Ventures.


TerminusDB, a Dublin, Ireland-based knowledge graph technology developer, announced completing a funding round of €3.6 million ($4.3M).

The money was raised from investors led by Volta Ventures with participation by Acequia Capital and included contributions from existing investors Atlantic Bridge University Bridge Fund and Enterprise Ireland.

Sander Vonk of Volta Ventures will join the TerminusDB board.

The funds will be used to hire new staff to help TerminusDB grow its user base and launch new products.

TerminusDB, founded in 2018 as DataChemist and a spinoff of Trinity College Dublin by Gavin Mendel- Gleason and CEO Kevin Feeney, developed an open-source graph database designed for collaboratively building and curating knowledge graphs.

The company has two main products: TerminusDB and TerminusHub.

TerminusDB is an open-source solution which has seen rapid adoption since it launched in early 2020. It is being used by a wide variety of customers to power the next generation of data intensive applications.

The TerminusHub commercial data collaboration platform launched in September 2020 and aims to revolutionize data management by making controlled data collaboration simple.

TerminusDB previously raised $1.2 million from Atlantic Bridge University Fund and Enterprise Ireland in 2018.
