THQ Nordic buys the Czech-based game developer Warhorse Studios for $37M.
THQ Nordic, a Stockholm, Sweden-based game publisher, acquired Warhorse Studios, the developers behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance.
The deal, which was made for EUR 33.2 million ($37.6M) on a cash and debt free basis, also includes all intellectual property rights.'The studio will be a subsidiary of Metro Exodus publisher Koch Media.
Warhorse Studios is based in Prague, Czech Republic and is one of Europe's leading independent studios. Its title, the medieval open-world RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance has sold over 2 million copies across all platforms in one year of existence.
Warhorses' net sales in 2018 amounted to approximately EUR 42 million, with an adjusted EBIT of approximately EUR 28 million.
At the same time, THQ Nordic also announced that its subsidiary Koch Media purchased 18Point2, which is a publisher partner in Australia. The deal was made for EUR 1.9 million on a cash and debt free basis plus an additional purchase price of a maximum of EUR 0.41 million.
In 2018, 18Point2 had net sales of EUR 15.61 million, with an operating profit of approximately EUR 2.31 million.
