Tieto buys VisueCare, wants to broaden its offer for municipal elderly care.

Tieto, a Helsinki, Finland-headquartered IT software and service company providing IT and product engineering services, announced it had acquired VisueCare, a SAAS startup provider for the healthcare industry.

The deal, which has undisclosed financial details, is aimed to strengthen Tieto's operations vis-à-vis the municipal sector, which currently accounts for more than 30 percent of Tieto's total revenues.

VisueCare is a Stockholm, Sweden-based startup founded in 2014 by CEO Lars Franzén. The company has developed a cloud-based service in order to facilitate day-to-day work in retirement homes and create smarter ways of working in elderly care.

VisueCare solution, used as pilot projects in cooperation with several municipalities in Sweden, has been developed in close cooperation with elderly care staff and enables improved quality and efficiency in healthcare by visualizing planning and facilitating quality assurance.
