Tracklib, a Stockholm, Sweden-based sampling service provider, announced a $12.2 million capital raise.

The funding was raised from investors led by Sony Innovation Fund, with contributions from other backers including former NBA player, actor and music producer Baron Davis.

Proceeds will be used for growt, as the company says it looks to reinforce and grow its community, including via original collaborations with producers and artists, as well as to expand both the available catalog and the features on the platform.

Tracklib, founded in 2013 by Pär Almqvist (CEO), Eric Amarillo, Johan Wiström, Pia Philipsson and Anil Raj, is selling a subscription access to a digital marketplace which includes a library of 100,000 tracks available for music creators from over 400 record labels/publishers. The music catalog ranges from 1928 to 2020 and consists of everything from Mozart to Isaac Hayes, and including contributions from artists such as Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, Phantogram, Mary J. Blige and J. Cole, whose 5x Platinum single Middle Child was built around a sample from Tracklib.

Tracklib previously raised $4.5 million in capital investment in 2020, and other investors include WndrCo and Jörg Mohaupt’s Bridford.

Total investments received (USD): 11.95M
