Treecard to secure $5.1 million in a funding round led by EQT Ventures

Treecard, a London, UK-based financial services startup, announced that it closed a $5.1 million capital funding round.

The money was raised from investors led by the Sweden VC EQT Ventures, and included contributions from Seedcamp, Episode 1 and angel investors Matt Robinson and Charlie Delingpole.

Treecard, founded in 2020 by Jamie Cox (CEO), James Dugan, and Gary Wu, is offering access to a debit bank account, able to receive top-up from a user's regular bank account, with support for chip and PIN, contactless transactions and mobile payments. The account comes with a wooden debit card attached and a mobile app that lets users track spending, split bills with friends and monitor how many trees have been planted as a result of user spending.

Treecard secured $1 million inn funding from Ecosia in 2020.
