Ultimate.ai completes a $1.3M seed round co-led by Holtzbrinck Ventures and Maki.vc.

Ultimate.ai, a Helsinki-Finland and Berlin-Germany based company providing a software platform for AI customer service agents, announced securing a $1.3M investment round.

The investment was co-led by Holtzbrinck Ventures and Maki.vc and the money will be used to enhance the scalability of the product, with investments going into its AI clustering system.

Ultimate, founded in 2016 and led by CEO Reetu Kainulainen, provides sustomer service automation via deep learning, helping computers understand human language using state of the art deep learning techniques. Deployed to chat, the company's AI can learn from human agents and automate their work by handling the most common cases which could be over 50% of the total workload.

The company's official name is still Culinar Oy, which refers to its previous business in the software development of restaurant industry. Culinary's three founders started the business in 2014, but they moved to Ultimate.ai in 2016.

Ultimate works with 25 enterprise clients, including Zalando, Telia and Finnair. In 2017, the company raised €230k and participated in SAP's sponsored Techstars program.
