UpHill announced raising a €3.5 million seed round led by Brighteye Ventures and MSM

UpHill, a Lisbon, Portugal-based SAAS startup developing solutions heloing hospitals adopt evidence-based best practices, announced raising a seed funding round closed at €3.5 million ($4.1M).

The money was raised from investors co-led by Brighteye Ventures and Mustard Seed Maze, joined by existing shareholders Caixa Capital, Luz Saúde and Bynd Venture Capital.

At the same time, the company announced securing €1 million in EU funding to lead a R&D project on clinical pathways implementation.

The proceeds of the capital raise will be used to business internationalization.

UpHill, founded in 2015 by Duarte Sequeira, CEO Eduardo Freire Rodrigues and Luís Patrão, aims to standardize clinical care via a software solution providing access to the best evidence available, support healthcare professionals’ productivity during this process, and improve healthcare quality sustainably. The company says it works with top-performing hospitals and worldwide pharmaceutical companies such as Novartis, or Pfizer, and has ongoing projects in Portugal, Netherlands, Greece, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain and Norway.
