Upvest to raise a €5 million series A extension from Earlybird
Upvest, a Berlin, Germany-based SAAS developer of financial service plug-and-play securities API, announced that it raised an additional €5 million funding round, closing its Series A round.
The money was raised from investors led by Earlybird and including angel investor's contributions. Furthermore, Upvest recently managed to hire Juha Ristolainen (former CTO TransferWise B2B), Parker Crockford (former Director Onfido), and Dr. Til Rochow (former Head of Investment Raisin).
Upvest, founded in 2017 by CEO Martin Kassing, helps financial institutions offer investment products in their app with a modular, scalable and accessible API. The company's APIs enabling financial service providers to store financial assets on the blockchain and opening up the investment playing field to consumers, as they can have available investment products (ETFs, equities, and commodities) with greater flexibility and speed, while still adhering to European regulations.
Upvest previously announced series A in 2019, at an initial €7 million investment from Notion Capital, HV Capital and Partech.
