Valpas raises €500k in a seed funding round supported by, and Reaktor Ventures.

Valpas, a Helsinki, Finland-based company that manufactures a hardware technology for bed bugs preventing, announced securing a seed investment round totalling €500k ($580k).

The round was led by with contributions from and Reaktor Ventures and money will be used to advance the internationalization and the mass production of Valpas’ solution.

Valpas, founded in 2017 as Totem by Martim Gois (CEO), Aku Viskari and Vertti Sarimaa,  developed an IoT hardware solution aimed for the hospitality industry and providing an autonomous bed bug prevention system keeping hotel rooms clean and reassuring guests from all over the world.

Valpas’ wellness system comprises of a platform that connects to smart IoT bed legs equipped with an in-built bed bug trap and detection sensors. Hotels just replace their existing bed legs with Valpas’ smart bed legs, and can instantly start monitoring rooms in real-time and receive notifications of eliminated bed bug incidents caught inside the legs.

Prior to this deal, Valpas raised money from Icebreaker and Reaktor in 2017.
