Vembla scores SEK 13 million from Cats.vc and Spring Capital

Vembla, a Stockholm, Sweden-based startup operating a home delivery service, announced completing a SEK 13M ($1.5M) capital funding round.

The money was raised from investors from the Baltics and Russia, including Cats.vc, Spring Capital and angels Andrey Tsytsenko (CEO at Motify), Leonid Dovladbegyan (CEO of the Russian food chain Perekrestok), Dmitry Shklyar and Maxim Ivenin.

Vembla, incubated in 2019 at Antler by Sunil Dutt, Dino Todorovic and Sebastian Malmberg, developed a mobile app via which consumers can order groceries from local stores. The company says it is working to make devliveries via dark stores, as it intends to open one in the second part of 2021.

Prior to this round, Vembla raised a little more than $1 million.
