Voi announced raising $160 million in debt and equity

Voi, a Stockholm, Sweden-based scooter startup, announced that it secured funding totalling $160 million.

The money is a combination of debt and equity and was raised from a range of new and existing backers led by The Raine Group.

The debt represents around a third of the total funding and the equity was provided by investors including VNV Global, Balderton, Creandum, Project A, Inbox Capital and Stena Sessan.

VOI Technology was founded in 2018 by Adam Jafer, Filip Lindvall, Douglas Stark and Fredrik Hjälm (CEO) with the aim to create an affordable system of electrically powered scooters for urban commuters. The company raised almost $200 million to date.
