Voovio, a San Sebastian, Spain-based enhanced reality software developer for the energy business, announced getting into a EUR 15M ($18M) capital investment agreement.

The deal was made with the Spanish investor Moira Capital Partners, which will control 45% of the company's shares. Following the deal, the current management team, led by the founders, Juan Bautista Gómez and Jaime Aguilera, will continue with the company.

Voovio, founded in 2008, developed a software solution that accurately simulates industrial facilities and equipment using the visual Enhanced Reality (ER) technique, which is located between the photo of two dimensions and 3D video.
The technology, protected by a series of patents in the US, is similar to Google's Street View, but it is applied to industries and allows interaction. In addition, all the necessary information can be superimposed on the image so that operators can understand, practice and execute the processes in a simple way.

Voovio's clients include industrial companies such as Basf, DuPont, Total, Praxair or Samsung.

Total investments received (USD): 23.87M
