YourLocal, a Danish food waste app, receives money from angel investors.

Your Local, a Copenhagen, Denmark food waste mobile marketplace, received DKK 3M ($430k) in an angel investment round. The backers include private investors Peter Sandberg, Christian Hoff and Lasse Gejl and the money will be used for further expansion in more cities.

Your Local, led by co-founder Kasper Kastoft Nielsen, provides a mobile app for local businesses that make the extra food close to expiration date available to customers. The app is available in Copenhagen, Aarhus and Aalborg and works with both traditional supermarkets and local shops. In 2015, Your Local won the first prize of DKK 500,000 ($75k) at a startup competition, Seed Discovery Day.
