STING was started in 2002 as a Swedish business accelerator owned by Electrum Foundation. Behind Foundation are both private and public actors: the city of Stockholm, KTH, Ericsson, ABB, research institutes in Kista and Kista Science City Business Group and Kista Science City Real Estate.

Each company that is accepted to STING’s accelerator program STING Accelerate automatically receives an investment of SEK 300 000 from Propel Capital.
