3DBear secures €1M in seed money for an online educational product.

3DBear, a Helsinki, Finland-based company providing an online platform for education, announced closing a €1M ($1.2M) investment round.

The money comes from a range of new and existing investors, including Rethink Education VC, Spinverse Group, the media group Keski-Pohjanmaan Kirjapaino and angel investors Hannu Vaajoensuu, Tero Lehtonen, Mitch Weisburgh, Glyn Eggar, Kaisa Olkkonen and Veli-Pekka Saarnivaara.

3DBear, founded in 2016 and led by CEO Kristo Lehtonen, developed a game for tablets which hides all the complexity of 3D printing and makes it a child’s play. The product is called 3DBear AR, and acts as a gamified learning application that allows users to implement virtual 3D models in a real living environment.

Prior to this deal, 3DBear raised €120k ($135k) in pre-seed money in 2016.
