Ably, a London, UK-based software developer that provides a suite of APIs to build, extend, and deliver powerful digital experiences in realtime, announced securing series B financing of $70 million.

The money was raised from investors co-led by Insight Partners and Dawn Capital, joined by existing shareholders Triple Point, Digital Horizon, Forward Partners and MMC Ventures.

Ably, founded in 2013 by CEO Matthew O'Riordan and Paddy Byers, developed a realtime data delivery platform that makes it easy to add realtime messaging and streaming data to business applications. The company has built a global network of data centers so that it can route messages as efficiently as possible. Just like content delivery network (CDN) companies try to minimize latency, Ably routes messages based on latency.

Customers include Hopin, Bloomberg, Verizon and Tennis Australia as the platform reaches 250 million devices per month, supported by 65 employees.

Ably previously raised $7 million in 2020.

Total investments received (USD): 78.26M
