Acast raised $33 million in Series C funding.
Acast, a Stockholm, Sweden-based company managing a curated platform for podcasts, announced that it secured SEK 300M ($33M) in capital investment.
The money was provided by Swedish investors, including AP1 and Swedbank Robur funds Ny Teknik and Microcap. Funding will be used to primarily fuel expansion and growth, including by launching in a new language area in Europe, as the focus focus is on taking in more podcasts and raising the number of listeners.
Acast, founded in 2013 by Mans Ulvestam and Karl Rosander and led by CEO Ross Adams, claims to be the world's largest marketplace for podcasts, with over 125 million monthly listeners globally.
