Aiven closes a $1M equity investment for professional cloud hosting and database management services
Aiven, a Helsinki, FInland based startup providing cloud service hosting for software infrastructure services, announced closing down a $1M investment financing round.
The money comes from local VC shop Lifeline Ventures and from Tekes, and will be used to accelerate the rapidly growing product development and the expansion of operations in North America.
Aiven, founded in January 2016 by CEO Oskari Saarenmaa, Mika Eloranta, Heikki Nousiainen and Hannu Valtonen, developed an operation that manages open source database and backend messaging systems for business customers around the world. The company's core team previously worked for companies like F-Secure, Nokia and Google, and the founders have been running an Open Source database management company since 2010, working with a variety of companies ranging from startups to large publicly traded corporations and government agencies to solve complex database requirements.
