Albatros Agency, a Stockholm, Sweden-based boutique agency that exclusively represents directors and screenwriters in film and TV, announced getting into a astregic investment agreement with the Los Angeles, US-based agency ICM Partners.

Financial details were not disclosed. Part of the deal, Hollywood-based ICM partner Pete Stone will relocate to Stockholm and work closely with Albatros team.

Stone’s role will be to expand the leading US talent agency ICM Partners’ clients' footprint internationally by ‘sourcing local language opportunities, international formats, and helping US and International clients cross-over into new markets’.

Albatros, founded in 2017 by Martina Österling and Elin Sandström Lundh, represents a large roster of more than 60 film & TV directors and screenwriters such as Björn Runge, Iram Haq, Jens Lien, Peter Grönlund, Måns Herngren. The company also handles film & TV rights to the book series by authors Mikaela Bley and Denise Rudberg, and extended its literary collaboration by signing last year an exclusive output deal with Stockholm-based Partners in Stories.

This is the second investment of ICM in Europe, after having raised $150M at the end of 2019. In March, ICM Partners acquired United Kingdom-based live music booking agency Primary Talent International. ICM Partners employs roughly 500 people.
