Astrid Education to raise $1.2 million.

Astrid Education, a Stockholm, Sweden-based startup providing a software solution for language learning, completed a seed funding round of $1.2 million.

The money was raised from local angel investors from Stockholm, including Fredrik Jung Abbou, Joachim Hedenius, Lars Thunell and Peder Stahle.

Astrid was founded at the beginning of 2020 by John Kristensen and CEO Andreas Kullberg and developed a mobile app based on voice recognition that listens to people reading outloud and then analyzes the pronunciation, provides feedback and adapts content, level of difficulty and exercises to optimize the child's individual learning and motivation. The company says that the app in being used in a closed pilot project with 500 students and will be launched in its first market - Vietnam.
