AthGene raises DKK 4M for further developing its DNA testing product.

AthGene, a Copenhagen, Denmark startup providing a platform for DNA testing solutions raised DKK 4M ($580k). Backers include SEED Capital and Laila Pawlak. The money will be used for internationalisation as well as for opening a hub in Barcelona.

AthGene, founded in 2015 by CEO Yusufa Sey, has developed a subscription-based genetics platform, through which customers can learn more about their body's unique genetic makeup.

Prior to this investment, in 2016, AthGene received EUR 2.5M ($2.8M) in outside funding from Magnus Kjøller.
