Atium raised a seed investment led by Stena New Ventures and joined by Chalmers Ventures, Gladium and Jan Burenius.
Atium, a Gothenburg, Sweden-based technology manufacturer for water treatment, announced closing a seed funding round.
The money was raised locally from investors from Sweden led by Stena New Ventures together with the existing owners Chalmers Ventures, Gladium and Jan Burenius.
The proceeds will be used for product development and customer pilots for 2022 and beyond.
Atium was founded in 2017 by Emma Ericson, Johan Björkquist and Björn Wickman based on research work made at the Chalmers University of Technology. The project patented a technology consisting of a reusable filter that removes the toxic substances from water by means of electrochemistry, aiming to contribute to an environment free of dangerous heavy metals. The technology is based on electrochemistry and is used to purify mercury water.
Atium previously raised funding from Gladium and Chalmers Ventures in 2020.
