Bikemap announced closing series A round backed by Ponooc.
Bikemap, a Vienna, Austria-based business operating a platform for tracking and sharing cycling routes, announced that it secured a capital raise in a series A funding round.
The money was raised from investors including the Dutch VC Ponooc and will be used for further product development and the scaling of the team.
Bikemap, founded in 2014 by Christof Hinterplattner, CEO Matthias Natmessnig and Peter Eich, developed a platform aggregating community-generated cycling maps and providing navigation services intended to serve communities on a global scale. The company says that more than 5.1M users have created over 7.6M unique cycling routes in 100+ countries worldwide.
Bikemap was previously funded by Speedinvest and angel investors including Andreas Mihalovits.
