Blast Premier announced £1.7M in funding from Edge Investments

Blast Premier, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based esports company, announced that it raised a capital funding round of £1.7M ($2.3M).

The money was raised from the British investors Edge Investments and will be used to accelerate the company's international expansion and optimise its production capabilities, while bolstering its broader UK operations as it looks to further tap into the nation’s strong media talent pool.

Blast Premier was founded as RFRSH Entertainment in 2016 by Nikolaj Nyholm as a media company focused on the esports vertical. In 2018, the company split and Blast has focused on organising Counter-Strike events.

Blast,  led by CEO Robbie Douek, has previously raised €12.5 million in a round led by Johan Gedda and Vækstfonden.
