Bokio was acquired by Visma.
Bokio, a Gothenburg, Sweden-based company providing digital accounting services, announced that it was acquired by Visma from Norway.
Financial details of the deal remained undisclosed.
Bokio, founded in 2014 by CEO Viktor Stensson, has developed a software tool that allows getting automated financial accounting done via a mobile app. The company has 80 employees, with clients mainly in Sweden and the UK, and in 2021 it produced revenue of SEK 12.8 million ($1.3M) from 20,000 customers in Sweden and the United Kingdom. It was funded by venture money as it has raised roughly $20 million from investors including Creandum, Svea Ekonomi and Inbox Capital.
Visma is an Oslo, Norway-based provider of cloud accounting and payroll software to SMBs in the Nordic and Benelux region, with over 1 million customers.
