Brain Stimulation to raise SEK 8 million from Backing Minds.

Brain Stimulation, an Umeå, Sweden-based health technology developer, announced that it secured funding via a SEK 8 million ($930k) capital raise round.

The funding was provided by the Sweden's investment company Backing Minds.

Brain Stimulation, founded in 2011 by Helena Fordell and led by CEO Fredrik Jonsson, digitizes stroke rehabilitation and with the help of "smart glasses" and an interactive form of Augmented Reality (augmented reality editor's note) will enable individualized brain training and rehabilitation in the home environment.

The company developed Enriched Rehabilitation, an immersive visual and music stimuli rewards that enhance the interactive and creative gaming experience with 3D holograms by using smart glasses in an intense task-specific rehabilitation environment.

Brain Stimulation collaborates with several departments in neurological rehabilitation such as Zurich University Hospital, Oxford University Clinic and the Kessler Foundation in the USA.
