Capidea acquires a major equity position in Budweg Caliper.

Budweg Caliper, an Odense, Denmark-based supplier of brake calipers, announced getting into an agreement with Danish private equity house Capidea, for selling a major part of the company.

The transaction is estimated to value the company at DKK 500M ($83M) and the owners prior to the deal, brothers Jan Uwe Larsen and Thomas Egon Larsen, will still be involved as managers and part owners of Budweg.

Budweg Caliper A/S, founded in 1978 by Henning Larsen, the grandfather of the owners, is one of the market leaders supplying brake calipers and spare parts exclusively through distributors and wholesalers in the IAM. The customers are primarily large spare part distributors as well as suppliers of brake systems while the largest markets are Scandinavia, Germany and the UK. Budweg Caliper, which has 170 employees, has a  product range offering more than 4,000 calipers.
