Citationsy raised SEK 1.3 million from angel investors from Sweden.
Citationsy, a Stockholm, Sweden-based startup developing a business based on a reference collection and bibliography creation tool, announced that it secured a financing round of SEK 1.3 million ($150k).
The money was raised from local angel investors from Sweden, including Ted Nelson of Truecaller and Juan Manuel Serruya of Spotify.
Citationsy, founded in 2017 by CEO Cenk Özbakir, developed an online referencing tool for people that automates the citation, reference list, and bibliography process in over 9,200 referencing styles including APA, Chicago, DIN, MLA, and Harvard. The tool is also available as a mobile app, which includes a barcode scanner for on-the-go book referencing, as well as a browser extension (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari) that enables one-click website citations. The company says it is used by more than 350,000 students, researchers, and scholars from 195 countries.
