Commerce Layer raised $16 million in a round led by Coatue.
Commerce Layer, a Florence, Italy-based software developer of a headless commerce platform and order management system, announced completing a $16 million series B round.
The money was raised from investors led by Coatue Management, joined by existing investors Benchmark and Mango Capital.
Commerce Layer, founded in 2017 by CEO Filippo Conforti and Massimo Scardellato, developed a set of API solutions allowing businesses to build e-commerce apps with their own, with customized front ends on the web or on mobile applications. Features include tools to build your own mobile, wearable and voice apps, point of sale solutions, subscriptions, and multi-vendor commerce models, along with services like building your own shopping carts and turning print catalogues into interactive, “shoppable” digital experiences.
Commerce Layers previously raised $6 million in a round led by Benchmark Capital in 2020.
