Deepset raised $14 million in a Series A investment led by GV.
Deepset, a Berlin, Germany-based software startup building an open source semantic search tool for enterprises, announced completing series A at $14 million.
The money was raised from investors led by GV with participation from Harpoon Ventures, System.One, Lunar Ventures, and Acequia Capital.
Deepset, founded in 2018 by Malte Pietsch, CEO Milos Rusic and Timo Möller, developed an open source NLP framework called Haystack that lets developers build pipelines for NLP use cases. Originally created for search applications, the framework can power engines that answer specific questions, as well as “knowledge-based” searches that look for granular information on websites with a lot of data or internal wikis. At the same time, tha company announced Deepset Cloud, a new subscription product for building NLP-powered software.
Prior to this round, Deepset raised $1.6 million in a pre-seed round led by System One and Lunar Ventures in 2021.
