Droplet Genomics to get €1 million in a seed round backed by Practica Capital and angel investors.

Droplet Genomics, a Vilnius, Lithuania-based biotech research company, announced that completed a €1 million ($1.2M) seed capital investment round.

The money was raised from local investors from Lithuania led by Practica Capital and included angel contributions.

Proceeds will be used to expand the company's intellectual property portfolio and accelerate the commercialization of new products.

Droplet Genmics, founded in 2016 and led by CEO Juozas Nainys, develops hardware systems, consumables and software solutions for universities, research institutes and biotechnology companies, as it aims to create easy to use workflows that would enable researchers to tap into the potential of droplet microfluidics technology for studying complex biological systems, as well as high-throughput screening applications.

Microfluidic technology enables researchers to study single cells and single molecules, allowing scientists to uncover new facets of human biology, diseases and speed up drug discovery research.
