EasyPark acquired PARK NOW Group from BMW Group and Daimler Mobility AG.

Easy Park, a Stockholm, Sweden-based provider of digital parking services, announced the completion of acquiring the German competitor Park Now.

The deal was announced in May 2021 and was made by acquiring all the Park Now shares from existing investors BMW Group and Daimler Mobility AG. Financial details were not disclosed.

The acquisition enables EasyPark Group to grow further and consolidate its position in the space of providing digital parking, electrical vehicle charging and mobility services. The two companies are perfectly positioned with a complementary market coverage in Northern America, Australia, New Zealand, UK (covering England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales) and rest of Europe, with a growing reach of currently 3,200 cities globally.

Following the closing of the acquisition, Jörg Reimann steps down from his role as CEO for PARK NOW Group and Johan Birgersson, CEO of EasyPark Group, takes over as CEO of the expanded Group.

Park Now is part of YOUR NOW, a global joint venture in mobility solutions founded by BMW Group and Daimler AG, with parking solutions are available in more than 1,100 cities around the world and the Group operates under the brands PARK NOW, Parkmobile, Park-line and RingGo.

Easypark Group, founded in 2001 and led by CEO Johan Birgersson, has developed an app that will make it easier for road users to find free parking spaces and pay for them directly on the mobile.  The company, which made sales of €82 million ($100M) in 2020, is owned by Verdane Capital and Vitruvian Partners, with the latter having bought the majority of the shares in 2017.
