Emérita Legal, a Santiago de Compostella (A Coruna), Spain-based company operating a platform for providing legal services, completed a EUR 260k ($300k) capital investment round.

The funding was raised part (125k euro) via an equity crowdfunding on Startupxplore - and part (135k euro) via private investors, incorporating different profiles of the legal and technological sector that will contribute to improving their position in the market.

Emérita Legal, founded in 2018 by Yéssica Vázquez and Antonio Padín, built a database with lawyers from Spain which uses an algorithm that qualifies them according to their judicial trajectory, taking into account dozens of variables, to assign them a score in each of the legal specialties analyzed.

The platform stems from the lack of information in the legal sector, which affects both users of legal services, because in the search for lawyers they do not have data that allows them to contrast their judicial experience and choose the most effective for their type of case ; as to the lawyers, who cannot be distinguished by their trajectory, nor can they optimize the acquisition and management of their clients and affairs. The company claims to have currently analyzed more than 6 million court decisions and detected and analyzed the trajectory of more than 110,000 lawyers in 60 specialties and more than 2,000 legal matters.

Total investments received (USD): 583.842k
