Eve Tech, the Helsinki startup founded in 2014 by Konstantinos Karatsevidis, manufactures and sells low end tablets.

Their approach though is interesting: Eve Tech created a community to crowd-develop products together with end users.

Eve Tech philosphy is simple: smart devices were either affordable devices with tasteless design, poor performance and full of bloatware – or Apple devices, nice but terribly overpriced. Eve wants to build the perfect product that is well-functioning, beautiful and affordable.

After getting a six-figure investment from Intel Capital, Eve Tech put its intended production of 500 units on Indiegogo, where it broke the site’s European record, attracting $725k in about 3 hours, while aiming only for 75k.

This 500 items are supposed to be manufactured and delivered by February 2017. The following production batch is supposed be shipped in April, and is also available on Indiegogo. Still.
