Fishbrain raises SEK 33M from Telenor and FJ Labs, adds Mattias Miksche to the board of directors

Fishbrain, a Stockholm, Sweden-based startup providing a social network for fishermen, raised SEK 33M ($3.64M). The backers are the existing investors and also include FJ Labs and Telenor. At the same time, the company announced that Mattias Miksche, an existing private investor in the company, will join the company's board of directors.

The money will be used for growth acceleration, namely for marketing and adding 10 new people.

Fishbrain, founded in Gothenburg by Jens Lindman, Marcus Fransson and Johan Attby (CEO), has developed a social network that lets fishermen share their fishing experiences with friends using web and mobile apps. The company currently has 3.2 million registered accounts, of which 80 percent are in the United States.

Fishbrain has raised more than $10M in venture money prior to this investment. In 2016 the company registered an operational loss, ar SEK 8M revenues (almost $1M)
