GamerPay closed a seed round of $2 million backed by FundersClub, PreSeed Ventures, Skyfall and angel investors.
GamerPay, a Copenhagen, Denmark-based operator of a marketplace allowing gamers to buy, sell and own in-game skins & assets, announced completing a seed funding round closed at $2 million.
The money was raised from investors from multiple countries, including FoundersClub (US), PreSeed Ventures (DK), Skyfall (NO), joined by angel investors Aleksander Leonard Larsen (co-founder Axie Infinity) and Heini Zachariassen (co-founder of Vivino).
At the same time, GamerPay announced entering a formal commercial partnership with Ninjas In Pyjamas (NIP), a Swedish esport team.
GamerPay, founded in 2020 by Rasmus Andersen, Morten Byskov, CEO Mathias Hermansen, Martin Lykke Suhr and Peter Haldbæk, operates a marketplace allowing gamers to buy, sell and own in-game skins & assets. The founders previously built and operated another ecommerce marketplace, w/ 1 million users selling second hand high end clothes. GamersPay is in a very hot market at the moment, combining themes such as gaming, NFTs and blockchain.
Not least - in 3 months of operations they already have great market validation as they transacted $245k, w/ a $7 cut, in a market of 215 million trades annually in games they support.
GamerPay was previously pre-seeded in the spring of 2021 and is one the European startups that were part of Y Combinator in the summer of 2021. It was one of the interesting Euro startups part of YC21 summer program as featured by Nordic 9.
