Gimi, the Swedish app teaching finance for kids, raises SEK 1M in fresh money.

VeckoPengen, or Gimi, a Swedish fintech startup providing an app for kids, raised SEK 1M in fresh money.

The investment comes as the company announced Matilda Hannäs joining as a new member of the board. She also is part of the backers, along with existing board members Stefan Persson and Eva Cederbalk.

VeckoPengen, founded as Gimi by CEO Philip Haglund in 2015, is an app that allows children and young people manage their finances. The app currently has 130,000 users in Sweden and the Nordic countries.

So far, the company has raised money in two rounds, one in 2015 and another at the beginning of 2016, from a plethora of high profile Swedish angel investors.
