Hanko announced securing seed funding from High-Tech Gründerfonds and angel investors from Germany.

Hanko, a Kiel, Germany-based SAAS developer, announced that it secured a seed funding capital round.

The money was raised from investors including High-Tech Gründerfonds and angel investors Carl Frederic Zitscher and Jan Kanieß.

Hanko, founded by CEO Felix Magedanz, developed a SAAS technology which makes biometrics usable on websites.

The company works with the open FIDO webstandards developed by Apple, Microsoft, Google and Mozilla, among others. FIDOis an integral part of Android, iOS, Windows and macOS as well as of all webbrowsers and can already be used on about 80% of all end devices. Hanko has also developed a certified FIDO server and provides the necessary infrastructure for website operators to offer users secure and easyauthentication with Touch ID & co.
